Joe was one of my mentors while I completed my internship as a product designer. He’s as kind, generous, and incredibly knowledgeable a friend as they come. When he and Linda reached out to work together on these photos I could have cried. So exciting! We met for this session in Saskatoon at The Well Collaborative, a local business that centers its focus on helping women connect, grow, and succeed. Many thanks to the kind staff who helped answer our questions and ensure the studio was ready to go for our rental!
Joe and Linda hadn’t taken photos together since their wedding, to say I was honoured would be a huge understatement. Bringing my clients into the creative process during a shoot is a favourite practice of mine. Joe and I had a lot of fun putting our energy and ideas together for these images.
I’m especially fond of some of the more editorial-inspired images we made by utilizing depth of field. Stacking one subject in the foreground as an out-of-focus framing element was challenging, but resulted in some of my favourite images from the session; definitely a style I want to play around with more!
Thanks for an awesome session Joe and Linda, you two are so sweet.
