As soon as we arrived in Claybank, we were struck by the vastness of the landscape. The sky seemed to stretch on forever, and the rolling hills were covered in lush green grasses. The area is known for its unique geological formations, and we were eager to explore the distinctive clay hills that make up the Claybank Brick Plant National Historic Site.
We started our adventure by hiking up to the top of one of the clay hills, which provided breathtaking views of the surrounding area. The texture and color of the clay made for stunning photos, and we spent hours exploring the different formations and snapping shots of each other.
As the sun began to set, we made our way back down the hill and headed to the abandoned brick factory. The rusted metal and crumbling bricks provided a perfect backdrop for moody and atmospheric shots. My sister Hannah, who loves shooting on film, was in her element and captured some truly stunning images.
As we packed up our gear and headed back to our car, we couldn't help but feel grateful for the experience we had just had. Claybank is a true hidden gem, and we felt privileged to have had the opportunity to explore it together. We couldn't help but imagine how beautiful an elopement would be in such a unique and picturesque location.
If you're looking for a place to escape and connect with nature, or even tie the knot in a breathtaking setting, Claybank, Saskatchewan should be on your list of must-visit locations. You won't be disappointed.
